Journaling

Have your child keep a journal of what they do each day! Possible format:

Make Your Own Story!

Kids are extremely creative and inventive. Challenge them to make up and write their own story! 

1. Brainstorm an idea for a story.
2. Who are the characters in the story?
3. What is the setting? When and where does the story take place?
4. What are the events? What happens in the beginning, middle, and end?
• Use temporal words (first, next, then, last, finally)
5. What is the conflict and resolution?
6. Challenge: Is there a moral or lesson to the story?

Once your child has their ideas, have them write their story down! Maybe they can even make a book and add illustrations.

Fact or Opinion?

In class, we were learning the difference between facts and opinions. A fact is a statement that is always true and an opinion is what you think or feel.
