Journaling
Have your child keep a journal of what they do each day! Possible format:

Make Your Own Story!
Kids are extremely creative and inventive. Challenge them to make up and write their own story!
- Brainstorm an idea for a story.
- Who are the characters in the story?
- What is the setting? When and where does the story take place?
- What are the events? What happens in the beginning, middle, and end?
- Use temporal words (first, next, then, last, finally)
- What is the conflict and resolution?
- Challenge: Is there a moral or lesson to the story?
Once your child has their ideas, have them write their story down! Maybe they can even make a book and add illustrations.
